... “Starter” says a lot about the trio's purposes, with its changing electronic pulse and the focused ramblings of the saxophone, crossing electronic music and free jazz, “Winner” displays a latent tension, under threat of explosion, and an interlude gliding, which leaves the listener permanently in a mysterious limbo. “Massive” has a dense and hypnotic groove, from which saxophone phrases emerge that gradually take shape, and “Drone” takes us to an industrial, austere and oppressive landscape. “Shorty”, titled in a self-explanatory way, for its less than four minutes in length, is above all a statement by the saxophonist playing bold phrases using the instrument’s very high register – at spaces sounding like certain oriental instruments – over a hip hop matrix beat.
